Nicholas Aragon & Curly Crow Books: A Mission to Inspire Young Readers

Nicholas Aragon is a New Mexico-based children’s book author and the creator of Curly Crow Books, a vibrant and educational series for kids ages 4 to 8. Inspired by his love for storytelling, his home state’s rich culture, and the joy of childhood curiosity, Nicholas writes stories that blend fun adventures with real-world facts, helping young readers explore, learn, and build confidence in their reading skills.

A Legacy of Literacy & Love for Reading

Nicholas’s passion for books began with his late mother, Barbara Keady, a dedicated teacher with a heart for storytelling. She instilled a love for reading in him from an early age, taking him to the library twice a week and encouraging his imagination. After her passing in 2017, Nicholas honored her dream of becoming a children’s book author by publishing her two stories—Curly Crow: Goes to the River and A Happily Ever After Story: The Magical Forest—and expanding them into the Curly Crow book series, filled with adventure, education, and important life lessons.

Beyond writing, Nicholas is actively involved in literacy programs throughout New Mexico. He has hosted storytimes at the Balloon Fiesta Museum and the East Mountains Early Learners Academy and continues to visit schools, libraries, and early learning centers to share his journey and inspire a love for reading. His mission is simple: to help children discover that reading is their superpower!

When he’s not writing, Nicholas enjoys spending time with his family and his two playful Boston Terriers, Rooger and Loki—who even inspired their own book series! (Nicholas with wife Amanda)
