Meet Nicholas Aragon, the heart and soul behind the Curly Crow children’s books. Inspired by his late mother, Barbara Keady—a teacher with a passion for storytelling—Nicholas turned his love for books into a mission to spark joy and literacy in young readers.

Barbara instilled a love for reading in Nicholas by taking him to the library twice a week. Her dream of writing children’s books lived on through Nicholas after her passing in 2017. Determined to honor her legacy, Nicholas self-published her two stories, Curly Crow: Goes to the River and A Happily Ever After Story: The Magical Forest, and expanded them into the trademark Curly Crow series filled with timeless tales and unforgettable adventures.

Today, Nicholas blends storytelling, education, and adventure in every book. From stories rooted in New Mexico’s culture to matching coloring activity books, the Curly Crow brand inspires kids to learn, grow, and discover their own superpowers. Beyond writing, Nicholas visits schools and libraries, sharing his journey to encourage a love for reading in children everywhere.
