A Treasure Hunt We Never Expected

...only to discover an unforgettable adventure?

That's exactly what happened the day we met a very curious little crow.

A Very Curious Visitor

One beautiful morning, we were doing what we do best.

Rooger was carrying around his favorite toy.

I (Loki) was busy sniffing absolutely everything.

Then...

A curious little crow landed nearby.

She had bright eyes, a cheerful smile, and a little satchel hanging over her shoulder.

She wasn't looking for tennis balls.

She wasn't looking for dog treats.

She was searching for shiny treasures.

Her name was Curly Crow.

Before long, she asked if we'd help search the backyard.

Of course we said yes!

Well...

Rooger wanted to make a plan first.

I wanted to start looking immediately.

Curly Crow just laughed.

It was going to be a very interesting day.

The Treasure Hunt Begins

Our noses went right to work.

Rooger searched near the trees.

I checked every flowerpot.

Curly Crow flew overhead looking for anything that sparkled.

Before long we started finding treasures.

A colorful marble that shimmered in the sunshine.

A sparkling bracelet covered with tiny jewels.

An old rusty key that looked like it had been missing for years.

Every discovery made us even more excited.

The Biggest Discovery

When we found the old key, none of us realized how important it was.

Dad did.

He smiled and said,

"I've been looking for this key forever!"

It was the missing key to the backyard shed.

We all looked at each other and wagged our tails.

We really had found a treasure.

Curly Crow smiled and said,

"Everyone has different gifts. When we use them together, amazing things happen."

She was right.

Without teamwork...

Without listening...

Without helping one another...

We never would have found it.

What We Learned

Rooger learned that good leaders also listen.

I learned that slowing down once in a while helps you notice important things.

Curly Crow discovered something too.

The greatest treasure isn't always something shiny.

Sometimes...

The greatest treasure is a good friend.

And that might have been the best treasure we found all day.
