Nicholas Aragon and the Curly Crow Series

A Journey of Collaboration and Gratitude

The journey of writing and publishing is often as thrilling as the stories themselves. For me, Nicholas Aragon, this journey has been an incredible adventure, full of creativity, hard work, and collaboration with some amazing individuals. The Curly Crow series, a project close to my heart, is not just my creation but a product of many talented and supportive people who have been part of my author journey. Today, I want to share my story and extend my deepest gratitude to those who have helped make Curly Crow a reality.

The Genesis of Curly Crow

The Curly Crow series began as a simple idea, inspired by a desire to create engaging and meaningful stories for children. As I developed the series, it became clear that bringing Curly Crow to life would require more than just my efforts. It would take a dedicated team of professionals, each contributing their unique skills and expertise.

Mentorship and Guidance

One of the most significant influences on my journey has been April Cox. April has been an extraordinary mentor, guiding young authors like me and helping us build our skills. Her insights and support have been invaluable, providing a solid foundation for the development of the Curly Crow series. April, thank you for believing in me and for your unwavering support.

The Talented Team

In addition to April, several other talented individuals have played crucial roles in the success of Curly Crow:

Bobbie Hinman, an incredibly skilled editor, whose meticulous attention to detail has ensured that each book is polished and engaging.

Praise Saflor, responsible for formatting and book design. Praise’s work, including e-book and coloring book versions, has made Curly Crow visually appealing and accessible to all readers.

Nancy Valenzuela, our most recent collaborator, who has done an outstanding job translating the Curly Crow series into Spanish. Nancy, an experienced bilingual educator, has brought her expertise to our project, ensuring that our stories reach a wider audience.

    The Power of Illustration

Illustrations are the heart of any children's book, and I have been fortunate to work with some incredible illustrators. Their creativity and talent have brought Curly Crow to life, captivating the imaginations of young readers. A special thank you to all the illustrators who have contributed to this series.

    A Special Collaboration

Lastly, I want to extend my gratitude to Dr. Rudy Garcia, who has contributed to a very special book, "Curly Crow Goes to the Sunport." Rudy’s insights into the operations of the Albuquerque International Sunport have been instrumental in shaping this story. I also want to thank the staff at the ABQ Sunport for supporting this idea. We can't wait to share this book with young travelers as they embark on their adventures to New Mexico!

    Looking Ahead

As I reflect on this journey, I am filled with gratitude for the families who have read the Curly Crow series. As I look ahead, I am excited about the future and the opportunity to make more connections with young readers, teachers, parents, and grandparents through my stories.

In a world increasingly dominated by technology and screens, children's books hold a special place. They provide a unique opportunity for families to connect over story time, creating cherished memories and fostering a love of reading. My goal is to continue creating stories that bring families together and inspire young minds.

To everyone who has been part of this journey—thank you. Your support and dedication have made the Curly Crow series possible, and I am forever grateful.
